Pinisi Journal of Local Language is dedicated to maintaining the integrity of the peer-review process and upholding high standards in academic review. Once a paper is submitted, it undergoes a thorough assessment for suitability by the editor, followed by a single-blind peer review by independent and anonymous expert reviewers. The review process follows these steps:

Step 1: Editorial Assessment

The review process begins with an editorial assessment. At this stage, the journal editor evaluates the article's suitability for the journal by considering factors such as:

  • Has the author followed the journal’s submission guidelines?
  • Is this journal the right fit for the article’s content?
  • Will the journal’s readers find the article interesting and valuable?

Based on this initial assessment, the editor may decide to reject the article immediately if it does not meet the journal’s criteria, or move it to the next stage of the review process.

Step 2: First Round of Peer Review

If the article passes the editorial assessment, the editor then selects and contacts qualified reviewers with expertise in the article's subject area. These reviewers are invited to read the article and provide feedback, advising the editor on whether the article should be published in the journal.

Step 3: Revise and Resubmit

Based on the reviewers' feedback, the author may be asked to revise the article. The author is encouraged to address the reviewers' comments and resubmit the article with changes. If the revisions are insufficient, the editor may request further revisions or decide to reject the article if the necessary improvements are not made to meet the journal’s standards.

This structured review process ensures that each publication in Pinisi Journal of Local Language meets the highest standards of academic rigor and relevance to the field of local language studies.
