Focus and Scope

Journal of Human Behavior in Organization (HuBO) is an international, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing theoretical and empirical knowledge in the fields of organizational behavior and organizational psychology. The journal provides a platform for high-quality research that explores the complex psychological, behavioral, and social processes within organizational settings, across micro (individual), meso (team/group), and macro (organizational/system) levels of analysis.

The journal welcomes submissions that investigate a wide range of topics, including but not limited to employee attitudes and emotions, motivation, leadership, work engagement and burnout, interpersonal dynamics, organizational justice, decision-making, change management, workplace mental health, and organizational culture and identity. Studies that draw on robust theoretical frameworks and employ diverse methodological approaches—quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, experimental, or longitudinal—are all encouraged.

Journal of Human Behavior in Organization (HuBO) maintains a strong commitment to supporting research that reflects the diversity of organizational contexts around the globe. The journal particularly values contributions that examine organizations in underrepresented regions, especially those outside of Europe and North America. It encourages cross-cultural and comparative studies that highlight contextual variations in human behavior at work, as well as research conducted in emerging markets, developing economies, or unique institutional and cultural environments.

The journal serves academics, practitioners, and policy-makers who seek to better understand and influence human dynamics in organizational life. By bridging theory and practice, it aims to contribute not only to scholarly discourse but also to real-world improvements in organizational functioning and employee well-being.

In sum, Journal of Human Behavior in Organization (HuBO) invites submissions that:

  • Advance theoretical or practical understanding of organizational behavior and psychology;
